Brian Wilson “wouldn’t hesitate to put a musician through his or her paces if the effort helped achieve the precise shading he desired. While the tracking sessions could be long and tedious, they were—according to most of the musicians—‘productive and fun.’ Brian thrived on the collegial relationship he enjoyed with his musicians, and he treated them with respect” (Charles Granata, Wouldn’t It Be Nice, 2003).
