to “Origins of rock and roll” (web), Trixie Smith was the first person to
record a song with a nonreligious “rock” and “roll” in the lyrics. She was
better known for “Railroad Blues” and “The World Is Jazz Crazy,” which she
recorded with Louis Armstrong (The Big Book of Blues).
