27 Robert Johnson (1911-1938) “I Believe I'll Dust My Broom” 1937
Johnson’s song “became a post-war anthem of electric blues” (The
Penguin Encyclopedia of Popular Music). His 1936-1937 recordings are listed on the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress.
